drive shaft seal?

the seal on the end of the tail shaft that seals the end of the drive shaft. Can this seal simply be pulled with a seal puller like what would be used on the timing cover balancer seal? And then a new one punched on w/ a block of wood?

Yes, you sure can.

Sort of. The only thing that makes replacing that seal at all hard is getting the new one installed. Since the output shaft sticks out further than the seal, you can't use just a plain block of wood. There is a special tool to install that seal, but I have seen many people install them by hammering the new seal in with either a block of wood with a large hole in the center for the output shaft to run through, or by using a large socket to hammer the seal in.

It will be fairly straightforward what to do once you get the driveshaft off. Good luck.
