So, everything is fine until the car gets up to operating temperature, and then the clutch won't work? You go under the car, adjust the clutch linkage and presto it works again?

Is the linkage losing the adjustment? In other words are you just setting it back to the same position every time, or are you actually changing the length of the rod every time?

If you've got a T5 one thing that could cause a problem like this is if the rear bearing retainer is scored. Essentially the throwout bearing is getting hung up on the retainer. A new on is $45, but you've got to pull the trans, and you really should check the mainshaft endplay since it's a new part.

thats what it seemed like ... but tonight i pulled the bell crank and all the related linkage ... i found that the hole in the cluch pedal was elongated i suspect that to be the real problem as it was letting the rod catch at differant places in the hole ... as i got lazyer in pushing on the pedal it would change ie. from the side instead of stright its gonna be a real pita to fix because of the roll bar but im pretty sure thats where the problem lies... or at least a part of it ... if i do pull the tranny for another reason i will be sure to check the retainer as you have advised ... thank you for your responce ... tao
