stock shifter help

stock shifter help

my stock shifter indicator thing is off..


the car was in NEUTRAL when i took that pic, but it reads Reverse. How should i go about fixing this?

dont qoute me but i think that thing is just hooked up by a belt and some gears, so I guess you just have to take the cover off and realign it

or possibily the face moves as well, the older style you just push down on the face and slide it up or down a bit to line up with where the shifter actually is...

hmmm.....this is a 91...i guess i will take off the panel later tonite...

ive had mine apart a few times. its a 89. inside there are 2 'belts', one that indicates the gears, and the other is the one the actual shifter sticks through. they are hooked together in a manner that they can be adjusted slighty.
