Torque Converter Plug

can anybody identify this plug? it goes in on the side of the tranny I know that, but the thing is, when i pulled the engine and trans, it was not hooked up...and the guy that just built my trans said it has to be hooked up becuase that is what locks the trans 1:1 in 3rd/4th....i've been looking all over on All Data Pro, and I can't seem to find any wiring diagrams or anythign on it....it is a 4 prong plug with 3 wires coming out of it...we got a blue(white stripe), a green and purple...i'm just having trouble on what it could be called, so therefore I have no idea for where the wires go...i'm guessing the green goes to the computer and ahve no idea where the other 2 go...power and ground maybe, i have no idea...at first i thought it was called a torque converter lock up switch, but I can't find a switch/sensor under that name at all...i found torque converter clutch signal switch that I thought maybe it was named but really I have no clue...any help would be greatly appreciated....

That's the torque converter clutch connector. What do you want to know about it exactly?

The purple wire on pin A has +12V from the brake switch.
The green wire on pin B goes to the 4th gear input on the ECM and is grounded by the 4th gear switch in the transmission.
The tan and black wire on pin D goes to the ECM and is grounded by the ECM to lock the TCC.

okay great...i got a diagram that matches what you said, so i know where all the wires go now....but for the pin d wire that goes to the TCC in the ECM, my diagram said it taps into the aldl connector under the dash also, would you agree? also how do I go about finding the wire to go to the brake switch for the purple wire?

Yes, the same wire is connected to the ALDL so that TCC operation can be diagnosed. Look under the dash where the brake pedal mounts to find the switch. It will have a purple and a pink and black wire.

There is a chance the guy put a 4th gear lockup only kit. That would explain only one wire being connected. You will need to drop the pan and look at the solenoid. If it only has one wire instead of the whole harness it has the kit.
