How do I pick a new rear diff?
So I am thinking that this rear is just about ready to go (figures, the motor just started working)...
Since I dont think the chances of me finding a 9 bolt in a camaro in the junkyard are very good, and I'm not going to get another 10 bolt... I'm interested in what processes, or steps I need to take, to take a differential (Dana, Ford, Moser, etc) and give it the same wheelbase. I want it to look exactly like stock, just be able to handle some of my spirited driving.
I havent got a clue about rear ends, and so information that you may take for granted I'll be clueless on, please be gentle

The easiest way is to phone up Currie, Moser, or whoever, and tell them you want a rear end for a thirdgen F-body.
If you were going to do it yourself, you'd have to shorten the axle tubes, weld all the shock and spring mounts on in the appropriate locations, shorten and re-spline the axles, and possibly change the axle flanges. After that you still have to figure out some way to mount the torque arm.

I could be wrong, but I believe all the Ford rears have upper control arms; which would require a bit of modifications to make fit a thirdgen.

As outgoing to find new things to fabricate, I dont think frankensteining my own rear diff is the best choice
Thanks, I guess I'll be looking around the junk yards for 9 bolts in F-Bodies lol.
