Tremec TKO

can you still find the older TKO 5 speeds? i know tremec now makes the TKO 500 and 600...but i'd like to find a rebuilt TKO....any ideas?

yes you can, the older tremec even for mustangs will work, you'll just need the adapter plate to rotate the tranny. of course you'd have to find a 26 spline input shaft one. i believe national drivetrain specialties sells the adapter plate. good luck

thanks big dave...where'd you get the 3550? 4 speed? was it in a truck?was the same problem of needing to mount it slanted?

Axle/Gears: Moser 9"/4.11 Trac-Lok

Mcleod makes a blowproof bell, pn 8635, to mount the TKO 3550 to most GM V8 engines. It includes the adapter. I got one by mistake from my Tremec dealer & could not use it because the GM spec TKO 600 will bolt to a standard Chevy bell.
