i have a 83 z28 with a 10 bolt rear end. i would like to swap the rear end with a 10 bolt posi out of a 87 iroc. my questions are; Are the those two interchangable? Will the ring and pinion in the 83 work on the 87? also the 83 have rear drum brakes and the 87 has rear disc brakes, will that be a problem?

you sure the 87 is a 10 bolt? if the carrier series is the same the gear set will be direct swap. 10 or 9 bolts along with a dana 44 would be direct bolt in with minor differances in brake lines, e brakes, porpotioning valve, etc.
