today i ordered a perma cool tranny cooler sized at 3/4" x 10" x 15-1/2", rated at 24,000GVW. I know that might be overkill but atleast i'm covered, right?
My question is where do i mount?
I've read about it and people recoomend that keeping it off the radiator is best as the radiator will heat the cooler up.
SO how far is far enough? an inch? I have 1" long rubber spacers i can place between the two. but if i need more space i'm sure i can allow.
Is it nessary for an independant fan? or will my stock fan still pull air through?

I had a perma cool cooler and I had it zip tied to the X bars in front of the radiator and on hot days it got up to 210*. Cooler is no longer any good (long story) so I got a B&M one of the same size and monted it on the radiator like suggested and now my temps never get over 180. I think the fan was able to cool it since it was against the radiator rather then about 6 inches away on the X bars.
well i dont have an a/c condenser, so i guess i could mount it like that, with just a little extra space. I want there to be room, but i want airflow to be utilized.
I guess its like drawing cards, except in this game you can always pick another(ie change the location).
