weird noise

Engine: 350 "ZZ4"
Transmission: ck performance th400 3000 stall
Axle/Gears: 3:73 10 bolt
weird noise
duno how well i can explain this noise but i'll try.
a buddy of mine has a 87 formula with a sd 350 probuilt 700r4 and edge converter.
we took a ride the other day he gave it a decent launch and now it sounds linda like a turbo spooling down checkd to see if anything was touching or rubbing anything and all looks ok.
it seems to be happening under load.
for some reason he was thinking converter or trans cause it sems to be where the noise is coming from.
anyone know of the noise im talking about.
