Bucking/Jolting For No Reason When Moving

This is the last bug I need to work out of my Camaro:

When I start in first the car accelerates fine. Once I shift into second and move a little faster the car starts to buck/jolt, like as if I were in too low of a gear, but Im not. It happens at like above 1800rpm I think, havent got the new tach hooked up yet. Then it dose it again in 3rd and I think it dose it in 4th too. Havent gotten fast enough to even get into 5th gear yet. As soon as I shift into neutrel it stops. And Im pretty sure when the car dose this, the engine rpm stays the same and dose not bounce like the car, but I wont know that for sure till I drive it with the tach. I have a new clutch, resurfaced my old flywheel, and had a new rear U-Joint put in. Im gonna try the driveshaft from another Camaro of mine. What else might it be?

Sounds like something going on with the engine, not the trans.

I.E. timing off, carb jetting off, vacuum leak, etc etc etc.

In neutrel it revs quick and smoothly. The bucking feels like its comming from the tranny/driveshaft/rear end, not the front of the car. Two other things I can think of: Only set base timing, not total. Base is at like 9*BTDC. ANd the wheels my drag radials are on were balanced in a garage by the guy I got them off of. There are a ton of weights on them, and some are falling off. Could it be because there is mabey so much weight on one side of each rear wheel?

In neutral the engine isn't under load. Any problem from the trans back would show up as some sort of vibration, not bucking. When I first started tuning in my fuel injection, I had similar problems if the tune was waaaay out of whack (too rich/lean, timing off, etc.)

Damn Katrinas' making it hard for me to figure this out. I took it out in the rain anyway. The bucking is happening in second and third gear between 1300-1700rpm. Its like if I hold the rpm above 1300 shift into second or third and very slowly let out the clutch the car wont buck. Kinda like the clutch is grabbing too quickly and making everything stumble. First gear is fine clear up to 6000rpm though, even in the rain my P275 M/T ET streets kept traction, thats a good sign. Dose the new clutch just need to break in? Also when the car bucks, the engine speed only jumps 200-300rpm and only when the bucking is real harsh, so I dont see it beaing something out of tune with the engine.

I think it's your big cam and low RPM that do not mix well. If you run it out higher, and shift so when you get to the next gear you're around 2300-2500 rpm's, does it still buck? What kind of clutch? If it's the clutch, it will probably chatter a little if there's a problem.

True, I never took the cam into consideration. I know I need to get a vacum canister because of it. Yea, If I rev it higher and shift theres no problem. Now that I think about it that dose make sense. The powerband on my cam is 3000-6500. And Torker 2 intake 2500-up. Its a new stock replacement V6 clutch disc. (auto swap this winter) Ive never heard what clutch chatter sounds like, but Ill get someone to ride with me who knows. Im gonna set all the timing later today, once theres a break in the weather I'll take it out again.
