clunking noise comming from bearrings or transmission HELP????
i am getting a loud clunking noise when i accelorate or when im stopping i thought it was the wheel bearings but i just realised if i put it in nuetral before i stop theres no clunking im stumped?? anybody with any suggestions please feel free and thank you

If it's a hard thump off from dead stops I would look at the transmission mount first. That's the usual problem. When my mount went out any more than 1/4 throttle from dead stop would make the trans come up and hit off the floor pan. I unbolted the mount and jacked the transmission up and the mount fell out in two seperate pieces.

nope thats not it the mount is only a few months old im thinkin it might be the u-joints to i dunno im gonna get to tear into it this weekend hopefully somethin i can get done by monday

At least U/J's are easy to check - just get under the car, put one hand on the propshaft, the other on the yoke and try and rotate the shaft, you'll soon see if there's any play.
