problems w/new b&m tq. converter

I just bought a new b&m torque master converter for my 350 trans that was just rebuilt. Once I got it in the car and drove it, everything worked better than ever for the first 2 times around my block. Third time, I got on the gas, and then it went so I had no gears at all. The trans was rebuilt right, torque converter was filled before intallation, and made sue it was all the way on the shaft. I emptied it and there were plenty and shavings in it. Any one had problems with these conerters? I don't know if i need to contact jegs or b&m to send it back. Darrell

Sounds like something in tranny let go, not to often convertors go bad-it happens, but usually behind big powered cars. and all it takes is a second for shavings from tranney to get pumped into convertor.

I agree that the trans got hurt. The converter will collect all the metal quickly. The converter can be flushed by a pro with the correct equiptment. After the trans is repaired.

The converter has to be bad though too. It spun way to easy when we pulled it out and checked it. Just wondering if any one had this problem, and can you send it back since it shouldn't go out that fast. The trans. was rebuilt with all new parts at the time the converter was installed.

Call Jegs first if that's where you got it from, more than likely if it's not that old they'll warranty it themselves and will just get credit back from B&M.

If Jegs wont help, then call B&M direct and talk with them. My buddy had a Holeshot convertor tht had metal run through it from tranny imploding, so he send it back to get lossened up as long as they had to cut it apart to clean it. B&M was going to just ship him a new convertor-same kind/stall rating, basically just rade bad for new, but after they learned he wanted a more race dedicated convertor, they credited him the full purchse amount towards the purchase of a new 8" race convertor. So sounds like their customer service is really good.
