Need hose barb connector to go to radiator's trans cooler port

Hey guys, help me out!! I know the trans cooler ports in the radiator are 5/16 inverted flare- but I can't seem to find the connector that comes with those trans cooler kits. You know, the fitting that converts the radiator's trans cooler port to a hose barb?

Is a 5/16 SAE enough? Should I be looking in Home Depot instead?

Basically I need the brass fittings shown here:

Help! Thanks!

Oh and also, what's the flare on the end of those hard lines? Is it just a double flare? I saw that Summit Racing sold inverted flare tube nuts for 5/16" line...

you'd want to take the flare to NPT, use an adapter, then get a NPT/barbed fitting

Permacool 15165 should work I think.

Fantastic! Thanks guys!

If I wanted to actually fix the flare nut fitting (I destroyed it- I hate flare wrenches), what kind of flare would I use on the end of the tube? A normal SAE double flare? And would these tube nuts work: http://store.summitracing.com/defaul...t=SUM%2D220157 (SUM-220157)

I had a fitting that I thought would work; but I think it's just a 1/2-20 thread-to-barb fitting, not an inverted flare. (Seems too damn loose in the radiator, even when I wrap it with teflon tape and tighten it, it still wobbles from side to side.)

The ends of the tube are SAE single flared. 5/16" flare nuts have 1/2-20 threads. Those tube nuts look like they'd work.

So I'd take a double flare tool, and just do the single flare on it? Thanks!

When I got home later that day, my dad actually found the fittings at a local speed shop! They were meant for a carb but hey, they worked "for now" until I can place a Summit order.

He found Mr Gasket #1544, with a 1/2-20 inverted flare end to hose barb. Strange though, it doesn't seem like Jegs OR Summit carries that part #. So it might have been replaced with a new number by now- but it sealed up perfect, no leaks!

Apparently the "spare" fitting I had was tapered.

So I'm back on the road without checking the trans fluid every few minutes! Thanks!!
