TKO-500, with a SFI bellhousing....
first off, i'd like to say i did try searching for this using a couple different terms....
anyways,
What bellhousing should i use? anyone have a model or part number? i don't want to use an adaptor on the stock housing as its no good for the track...
what throwout setup? fork and a slave? a hydrolic throwout bearing??? i'm a bit confused as to which i should use, since i see that both of them can be used?
can anyone with a TKO that they use for racing purposes fill me in here? it's bad enough that i already found a couple cracks in my stock t-5 housing after i had broken the trans..... not good!
car is well on its way to tens, so i need to start getting all the necesary parts in the car...

i believe lakewood or hays should be able to hook you up with a bellhousing to fit. not sure on the new tko mounting holes but i am guessing they are the same as a standard t-5.

I have been running this setup since 97 when Fortes first brought out Tremecs for the F-body. Its great except for one thing, the Lakewood bellhousing hangs down way to low for street use, and mine is ground down! It doesnt take much to catch the lip of the bellhousing.
As for the throwout bearing, I bought a new one when I installed the tranny, but its nothing special (ie not hydro) and its still fine after all of these years. It does rattle when the tranny is in neutral, but thats no big deal. Good luck.
