Sfi ?

If swapping a Camaro 3.4 with sfi into a vehicle that has a 2.8 tbi, what would be needed from the Camaro to have the sfi function properly and how much of the computer wiring harness?

i see you asked "how much of the harness"

if you need to run emissions gear, all of it, but if you are not going to run emissions, pretty much just the sensors, injectors, etc.

Just finished doing it.

Try the WHOLE 3.4l wire harness, ecm. And the wiring diagrams for BOTH rides.

Hey guys....

How much more efficient is SFI compared to MPFI? I was thinking, if it really does make a difference, it really might be worth converting to SFI... from the looks of it, everything will match right up.. and still look stock.

it is more efficient, but for the work that you're gonna have to do to get it, it might not be worth it. I'm sure Dale went through a lot of trouble to get the stupid thing to work, and nless you're prepare for it, don't worry about. That's my opinion. It's only really more efficient under 3000 rpm and at less then 1/2 throttle, i think above that it goes into batch fire anyway and it's just like our motors.

it is just HAIR better then mpfi. Not worth the money and labor.

I wanted it for custom look, and to get rid of that damn distributor. The better mpg, and emissions was just a bonus.

So,how does a mpfi compare to a tbi performance wise? I 'm considering a 3.4 swap into an S10 blazer and like the looks of the 2.8 mpfi. I know that 4.3 injectors can be used on a tbi for an upgrade, what can be done with a mpfi to deliver more fuel if needed?

MPFI is way better then TBI, and worth some work. Can stick 17lb injectors from the 3.4l into the mpfi fuel rail.

If your putting it into a blazer, log in at s-series.org, and ask. quite a few have done it, and they are really nice and willing to help like here.
