I have an 85 irockz and i'm stuffing a 454 into the engine compartment. i also wanna swap in a ford 9 inch rearend. is there a company that makes parts for this swap. any advice would be appriciated.

 

I wanted to do the 454 thing too, until I actually saw a big block in a camaro and saw what needed to be changed..


Anyhow mosier and a few companies make 9 inches for these cars.

 

what turned you off too swaping in a 454?

 

fenderwells need to be cut out and the suspension changed to a upper/lower control arm system. Also it looked like the firewall needed to be changed a bit. Also the front springs need to be replaced with something that can handle more weight. I mean its only 100 lbs extra or whatever but if you have ever had someone sit on the hood of your car while its moving you'd know it makes a big difference when driving.

I'm not trying to tell you what to do, I mean if you have the knowledge and skill to do it. Go for it, just be warned.

You can get plenty of horsepower and torque outta a smallblack.
