Stuck Bellhousing? (please don't make fun of me too much)
I pulled my engine and tranny (305/T-5) together a little while ago so I can get ready for the new combo. Today I decided to try and get the bellhousing off the old LG4 with little luck. Transmission is off and the 6 bolts that hold it to the block are out. Only thing left is the two dowel pins. I feel like an idiot for asking this, but..How do I get this thing off? Or am I just being a wuss about?

if there is nothing else retaining it, it should slide off. you said you already have the tranny off?did you remove it before the bell housing to engine bolts? if not, it could just be in a bind. lift up on tail housing and pull.

Yea, it just seems to be really stuck on the dowel pins. It'd be nice to use the tranny as a breaker, but I got rid of that a few weeks ago.
Jack screws would be a very good idea, I hear ya on service-ability ede. There are parts on other GM vehicles I own that I'd rather not discuss how hard it is to change out. hahahaha.
Anyway I'll give it another go tomorrow, Thanks guys.

Alright, finally got it off. I put the tranny bolts back in just enought to hold on to so I could get some torque to wiggle the thing off. So after a good 20 min of prying and whatnot it finally came off. I guess I didn't expect to have to struggle so much with it. Oh well, on to other tasks...
