i took it into aamco just bought the iroc from my cousin. he had it sitting there for like 9-11 months. i did the tune up and MAN!!! it rev'd like a beast. now i had it on the road and it started slippin. what should i do????? im a broke college student with a baby on the way and i need my car. another tranny shop said they'll rebuild for $500 aamco is charging me $695 just for taking it off, looking at whats wrong, and putting it back in!!! what should i do. the IROC has 155,000k on it

 

pull the trans yourself its not hard, get it rebuilt and put it back in.

 

check the trans fluid first, smell it. It may need to be topped off. Labor on a tranny R&R should be around $300 depending on the shop plus a rebuild and with stock parts that should run around 500

 

junkyard tranny pull it your self or take it to the local high school
