b&m megashifter + rw lockup at 75 mph??
i picked up my car today after having a .373 rear put in. everything was fine until i put the shifter into 1 and tried to go through the gears. i went to shift into D and the rear wheels locked up. it stalled the engine and i got to the side. i finally got it cranked up and put it into D and it was fine the rest of the way home. it has never done this before. does it sound like the shifter needs re-adjusting or what?
thanks

I think it it had anything to do with the shifter cable you would have gone into Neutral or stayed in second.
Maybe you went way too far and hit reverse?

yeah sounds like the cable somehow made the tranny to go into reverse. id have a friend play with the shifter while you watch the tranny shift positions. hope you figure it out. but it sound to me somehow it skipped od and nuetral and went into reverse. i would be carfull till you sort that out. atleast you didnt wreck when the tires locked. good luck

b&m megeshifters have a reverse lockout that prevents that. when did you put the shifter in? make sure you put the cable into the correct hole or check the adjustment of the cable per the instructions. a rear end swap shouldn't have made a difference in the shifting of the shifter unless the shop that did it messed with it somehow. i can't see why they would.

no he put the shifter in 4th/od and the rear tires locked. im not saying the shifter itself skiped into reverse but maybe a miss adjusted cable allowed into reverse. but i think it could have been the bracket holding the shift cable to the tranny allowed the cable to shift into reverse. but this is just speculation because i cant look at it and see whats going on.
