how much power is too much for a recently rebuilt(less than 100 miles) T-5? I have a 350 with a mild cam. performer carb and intake, headers and mild porting. I just don't want to grenade this thing with a few power launches.

Is it a w/c T5? Even so you will eventually blow it up with a 350. I'm running a w/c T5 that is freshly rebuilt, including all new gears, behind a strong 327 and I assume it will only last a couple years of limited duty, if I'm lucky.

mine is not a w/c. is there anything you can do to beef them up. or is it worth it to buy a richmond from summit and put it in?

just don't do any power launches and you'll be fine, or get another manual tranny like the TKO. Mostly like you will grenade it though from dumping it at high rpms. If you just fry the tires and get no traction it might not be that bad. I wouldn't expect it to last too long behind a 350 with upgrades though.

The non world class T5 is only rated at 265 ft lbs. You will blow it up running it hard. Making a non WC into a WC would require replacing everything internal - not worth it at all.

if a non w/c can handle 265lbs what can a w/c handle? also I have a chicken legger right now. but I have a posi 3.73 I am waiting to put in. will that kill my trans sooner? I just like to get into it now and then. I am not a 7k dumper. I like to fry the tires and get up to speed quick.
