clutch pushrod help

clutch pushrod help

ok heres the deal the clutch pushrod poped off the clutch pedal fo my car, when i looked under the dash at the pushrod linkage te plastic bushin that was in it was cracked, went to the autoparts store and replaced that to no avail same thing kept happening, anyone have a diagram and know that actual part i need, havent driven my TA in 3 days, and i temp rigged te clutch pedal and linkage with 2 zipties

err as far as i remember that is the only thing holding it on.. the plastic clip, but you could probably do it like the brake pedal is.. has a metal clip that slides around the outside and holds it in

That is what holds it on there. Why the heck GM used it is beyond me. They are about 10-11 dollars at the dealer. I can post up the part number for you tomorrow if you like.

I personally am going to get a clip used for the brake pedal (as was mentioned above) and put that on. I think you have to enlarge the inside diameter of the clip a bit but definately a better way to secure it than the plastic 'bushing' IMHO.

thanks for the replys, i went to advanced autoparts todday and found a similar bushing thing but the pushrod jsut poped right off,so i went back to the zip ties, called a pontiac dealer and they told me the plastic clips where a buck each but the computers where down so i count make an order
