I have heard many people tell me it will get killed hooked up to my motor. but i have heard so many success stories about it being used on way more powerful cars then mine? what if i got a slightly built one? help me out here please, i definantly want a stick and i definantly dont want a t56.

if you have the 305 tbi in your info then you should have no problem. they put t5s on those stock. if its a different car, then just wondering, what do you have planned for it.

Dumpin it and dead hooking is what will kill it. Ride your clutch like a torque converter off the line and you probably won't have any problems. But your clutch won't last as long. But I'd rather replace the clutch than the tranny.

i wont really be messing around often or be doing any hard launches. drive it normally (very gently) about 90% of the time anyways. you think i could get off fine with a t5?

I pulled my boat around for 2 yrs with a T-5 and had no propblems on a 305. I couldn't even tell I had a trailer on it. In fact, I beat a mustang off the line with my boat in tow by about 3 car lengths. Take that pony power!!!

If it is a world class I would not worry about it.
We run our with slicks get low 60' times...13.3 quarters and no problems. With the slicks we launch at 3 grand.

cant guarentee anything with the t5. some people have it work out and others dont...i dont want to have to mess with the trans blowing, so i opted for a t56 instead of a possible problem

but going with a t5 wouldnt be that expensive, especially if you have another to sell that will go out fairly soon anyways, i guess. i dont know.

o yea, high school budget.

I say just be reasonable about it and understand that these parts have a power rating. Anytime you're over the rating you're chancing it. that dosnt mean its gonna break instantly, just that there is a greater chance it will break. One thing is for sure, your driving habits and ammount of traction will greatly affect how long it lasts. If you go a few threads down there is a guy running in the 11's with 1.7 60ft times with a stock T5 and it hasen't blown yet.
