After long and difficult time swapping axles out in the street.

Ive come to the conclusion that the carrier is bad and would
have to be replaced unless it can be repaired.

After the install I test drove the car and only went
around the block and parked it beause of bad sounds
back there, turned out the left wheel had a bad wobble..

So I put new axle bearings and seals, but after further
investigation I found the left side gear(spider that mates
with the axle) has alot of play I could move it up and down
around 1/8 inch aprox.
I swapped it for the right gear hoping that it was just the gear not the housing that was bad, but it wasnt the gear.

So after all this it looks like I need another carrier or another rear.

Its a series 3 carrier 3.73 open.
I suppose I could put my series 2 carrier 2.73 in there right?

I doubt it..Im so beat up already and winter is coming..
This car is gonna be laid up all winter..
