4L60e Conversion "shift arm linkage"

Hi All,
I'm in process of gathering parts to do an 4l60e conversion to my 1982 Firebird that stills has the orginal 200c transmission. I already have most of the information and have already purchased the transmission etc. My main question for this thread is the shift arm linkage that attaches to the transmission. Will the shift arm linkage from the 200c fit the 4L60e?

If the shift arm linkage does not fit, what years third-gen/forth-gen should I look at to get the proper parts numbers?

Thanks for your help!

the arm in the 4l60e is the same in the 700r4. you should be able to get one off of any third gen. with a 700r4 or 4l60e up to '94 or '95.that was about the time they changed the shifter arm and put the neutral safety switch on the tranny itself. as a matter of fact, i still have my factory shift lever. i'm not sure if the 200c is the same or not.

Thanks 87zjeff,
My biggest problem is that there are no ThirdGens in any of the Salvage yeards around Raliegh.

The Arm that you are referancing is the one that attaches to the transmission? I will have to order new part.

As for the shifter, www.700r4.com sells a conversion kit that will allow me to keep the orginal shifter and convert it to new detent pattern required for the 4L60e transmission.

yeah, that's the one i'm referring to. you can have mine if you want it. all you need to do is pay shipping on it. plus i have my factory shifter. i don't have the necessary cover plate though. if you want the shifter, make an offer. it's just sitting on the bench. and you can have the arm that goes on the tranny. let me know.
