A Good Converter
I'm trying to find a good torque converter after my brand new B&M one only lasted twice around the block. A friend recommended art carr performance products. Any one know of them. Here is a link to the converter. http://www.artcarr.com/storm.cfm?fun...ProductID=6945
Thanks

Still looking for a 2200RPM stall, or just reccomendations on a TC brand or one to match your setup which we would need some specs.

I have been buying my converters from a local, highly regarded company. They can make anything from stock, to big dollar stuff. They just built a stock size, heavy duty, blueprinted, 26-2800 stall lock up converter for $225. I have been very satisfied with them so far. I can dig up there card and post the info if you like. I have had terrible luck with tci, b&m etc.

Floor Guy, if you've got the card, the info might be useful. Thank you

The company is called- The perfect shift 570 619-7531. Rich Jr. will likely answer the phone. They just did a 2800 converter for my 87. They also just did a 2600 stall for me to use in a customers vette.

A very close racing couple from MN that we race with tried Art Carr in their 347cid powered 67 stang running 10.90's....it made it 2 passes and the sprag let go.
That's all I know. Art Carr offred to repair the convertor free of charge, but they got their money back since they did'nt need the headache and were afraid to try it again.
That's a race convetor with some good hp going through it, I'm sure their street convertors will work just fine...

Just a note on Art Carr stuff
He sold his original company and Art Carr name back in late 90's I believe and the original company is for crap and I would not recommend them
Art Carr proper has since gotten back into the trans business, prolly cause he was getting trashed by selling the outfit to the original jokers.
Just somehting to note when dealing with Art Carr stuff, make sure it is actually Art Carr and not merely his name
later

Anyone running the TCI Break a way converter. Harndened hub(what broke on my last converter) and anti balloning plate. It sounds better than my last converter.

Bad converters, I know the feeling....Bought a 4000 stall ******* performance converter off ebay for 255 bucks to hold me over until I could afford a real converter... once around the block and the thing took a dump. The car still moves, but makes noise. I might race it this weekend anyway, and if it breaks, it breaks
