I just got done performing an engine swap from a 305 cfi to a 350 4bbl, got it all set up with a little bit of pain from the tv cable not reaching the holley I got under the hood. Bought a bracket that was suppose to fix the problem but only helped it out a little bit...cable still needed to be about two inches longer in order to reach carb. I made a linkage so that the cable reaches now...I got in the car, fired it up, dropped it into gear and down the road I went...1st, 2nd, 2nd, 2nd still...at 4500 rpm and crusing at a steady speed I figured that it was not going to shift to 3rd for me. Could it be I have not got the cable adjusted correctly or need a new one? The cable should reach without having to make extra parts in my garge I would think...does anybody know where I can obtain an oe cable for pretty cheap and in a hurry? I figure I will start there and then move on to the tranny until I can locate the problem. Hope someone can help me out here. Thanks in advance.
