700r4 light throttle, high rpm shift
Ok, took the T/A out for its first real drive... Rebuilt 700r4, new crate 350, rebuilt QJet, etc.
I have adjusted the TV cable as per BowTie and Haynes/Chilton directions.
Light throttle shifts from 1-2 at almost 4k! WOT, about 5200 (only done it once or twice, still breaking in). If i cruise to 3k, and lift throttle it will shift. Downshifts work (3-1, 2-1). 4th only engages above 50...
Pressures were within tolerance...
Any ideas?

how far have you drove it? sounds like normal break-in of a performance 700. the valves could be sticking a little if the tranny was assembled without any oil in the valve body. did you buy the tranny or rebuild it yourself? what was done during rebuild as far as mods go?

about 200 miles
The tranny was dry when i got it. Purchased. Mostly a "high quality" rebuild. Little better than stock.
TV cable, as said, is adjusted and working fine. Appears to bottom out the plunger at wot, when compared side by side, disconnected.
If i let it go its course, light throttle, it has a firm, non-agressive shift. at mid-mid/hard throttle it is firm to the point of chirping the tires.
So no worries yet?
(BTW: I have never driven a car with a 700r4, nevermind, all those miles are the first ta/camaro ive driven...)
