What do i need to beef up my 700R4??
Just wondering what its going to take to get my newly aquired 700r4 to handle up to 600hp. Its out of an 85 maro so its not the newer revised model
Im thinking a TCI kit# 378815. Its the Pro kit with Red eagle components.

the '85 tranny doesn't have the updated components like heavier duty sprag assemblies and updated pump. plus you will need at the very least a hardened shell if not a beast shell.
You will need to start with a 1988 & up core to start with. Then use the http://www.700r4l60e.com/store/custo...&cat=19&page=1 This will do the job. Now you will need a 9.5" lockup torque converter to go with this.

Alright, so i guess its not worth building this trans up for my 383. Ill redo this one for use on my 350 and just grab a pre built beefy trans for the 383.
