"Edge" racing converters

Has anybody heard of Edge Racing Converters and if so what is your opinion.

I am looking for a small diameter stall converter around 2800 rpm that is efficient, yet streetable. I recently heard Edge was good, but I have never heard of them before.

If anybody has another recommendation, let me know. I have a 1995 4L60E. I want to get as much power to the ground as possible. I have not chosen a cam yet, but it will probably be the following:

Dur @ .050: 239i 239e
gross lift: .558i .558e
Lobe seperation: 112

Also, the tranny has about 70,000 miles on it (I know I am going to break it), should I run conventional or synthetic fluid. Does the synthetic increase efficiency and/or lower temp? Will synthetic make the tranny more prone to slipping?

I am not very knowledgable anbout trannies and any help is appreciated, thanks.

i have a edge converter ...2800 stall with lockup

when my tranny got alot of miles on it, i knew it was gonna need rebuild, and i was gonna beef it up, and wanted a good converter.. so i searched on here. i havent heard too much good on B&M and TCI converters.. they aint too bad, but u get what u pay for, and they are 11-12 inches which i didnt want and heard wasnt real good. so i found precision industries vigilante converters which are great but way expensive for my tastes... so i found midwest and edge racing in the mid range price area i liked. both are good from what i heard but i went with edge.

i absolutely love mine... never been happier...they set me up with a great converter.. its got my L98 with headers/catback doing 13.89 at 96.6 with a 1.89 60 foot on street tires with old 2.77 gears.. now i'm going 100.87mph with just 3.27 gear swap but havent yet bested my ET. i did 13.98 so far. more left in it for sure.

mine has functioned flawlessly since my transmission rebuild. new tcc solenoid so it locks up really nice in overdrive above 40mph. its a good quality converter in a mid range price. i definately recommend it.

however, if u do drive it hard alot, the higher stall will heat up ur tranny more often... i suggest a good tranny cooler and eventually a high performance rebuild to handle the extra stress..

Over on the B-body boards, they swear by Edge converters. I've never heard anything bad about them at all. As soon as I can afford one, I'm gonna get one.
