keir or mcleod t56 swap products?
im deep into research for swapping my ls series t56. so far i have come to the conclusion that the keir kit would be the easiest to install. it come with everything needed. bellhousing(which is the adapter itself, no plates, etc.) bolts, and a custom hydraulic throw out bearing. then i assume its just the matter of getting slave/master cylinder and pedals from an ls1 car. and then its just a matter of getting spohns ls1t56 cross member/torque arm assembly. and a shorten drive shaft. this install seems to be alot smoother.
now for the mcleod. there modular bellhousing kit is nice its blow proof. and comes with the adapter plate. now now after bolting this up you still have to purchase an adjustable ball stud. and a fork. a adjustable throw out bearing. and longer dowl pins. and you have to fabricate your own slave cylinder holder to attach to the side of the bellhousing. there maybe more to this swap with mcleod but i am not sure at this time.
here is my question. if i plan on putting close to 500hp/500lbs threw the clutch assembly and hopefully to the ground. do i really need a shatter shield? and which one seems like a better buy? mcleod your looking at about 450 for bellhousing plus another 200 in misalanious stuff. and keir is 650 and i can use my t5 clutch. so all i would spend is about 150 on pedals and slave/master cylinder.
