Where can I buy a 3 series carrier??
Unfortunately, I don't know of any aftermarket supplier that offers new replacement carriers for the 9 bolt. Your best bet is to put an ad in the parts wanted section of this site, and check ebay. On second thought, I might've seen new ones through nine bolt. com or reider racing, but they were ungodly expensive. Good luck!
Hey I noticed in your earlier posts you were thinking about skating around getting an installation kit with the gear/carrier change. Don't even consider skipping the installation kit! As expensive and time consuming as it is to regear/rebuild a rearend, you should always install new bearings. You'll most likely destroy the old bearings when you remove them from the old pinion and carrier anyways. Besides that, the installation kit has other stuff you'll need anyways, like the shims for setting pinion depth and ring gear backlash. It also gives you a new crush sleeve, which you'll also definitely need, since you can't reuse the old one. And last but not least, a new pinion seal. Who wants a new rearend setup with a leaky pinion?
