lock up in what gear?

lock up in what gear when racing?
Hi. I was wondering if anyone with a good stall is locking in their lock up clutch in any lower gear than 4th? Like 2nd gear when racing for lower et's. I know a few guys with grand nationals that do this. just curious if anyone is doing it or not. And has anyone had good luck with any certian brand of converter. like an edge, yank, or have you heard of ******* converter? Thanks for the info and input!

my edge converter works great. locks up in OD once you hit over 40mph..
but it will also lock up in drive (3rd gear) at the same mph
