Tranny Swap
The Th200c in my blue bird finally took a dump.So Im gonna take out the 700r4 out of my 83 Trans Am and install it in my 82 with the help from my buddy Mike.Ive done some research here but Im confused because some people say its a direct bolt in and others say new holes have to be drilled for the cross member. Is this true?
Thats the ony thing Im confused about .Were gonna start it tomorrow .

Wel from what I heard 700R4 dont just drectly swap into an 82 f-body.Ill need to drill new holes for a cross member or get the 700r4 conversion kit for 100$ or so.I think he TV cable doesnt line up either. But if I do go the 700R4 route I have my 83 T/A I can get all the donor parts I need to accomplish the 700R4 swap.
Either way Im gonna go the short tail turbo 350 swap.Seems like it would be much easier.I just gotta find one and have it rebuilt. In the meantime tho Im already taking out the pos th200c .

If you were closer I got a Th-350 here. The swap is very easy...I made my own torque arm mount and never hooked up a kickdown cable, cause I never use it with the Th-350, If I need to drop a gear to pull on someone, I shift manually anyway.
