I took the 4L60E out of my old TA to put in my new '87 and had a question in it's rebuild process.

I just finished the low/reverse clutch pack and put the sun gear and planetarys and everything back, however I can't spin the top set (1-2-3-4, not overdrive set) of planetarys. The output shaft does spin though.

This makes some since because I didn't think overdrive was supposed to spin until it was engaged and the shaft is splined into them, but I did a th350 and it spun freely.

Is this how it's supposed to be on a rebuild? I don't want to have to take the clutch pack back apart if i don't have to lol
