Return/feed lines on a 700R4

Hey guys, i will be installing my tranny cooler within a couple of weeks, and i am wondering which line (going into the radiator) is the tranny fluid return/feed. I assume the bottom one if the return line, but correct me if i'm wrong.

If in doubt, take the car for a ride and drive it hard. Pop the hood and feel the 2 lines. The cooler of the 2 is the return.

Re: Return/feed lines on a 700R4

Can someone else confirm this? I am also installing an aux cooler and it won't work good if it's backwords.

Thanks

Re: Return/feed lines on a 700R4

The bottom line takes fluid from the transmission to the rad. The top line takes fluid from the rad to the transmission.

If you ask enough people where to install an auxiliary transmission cooler, 1/3 will tell you to install it in the supply line, 1/3 will tell you to install it in the return line, and 1/3 will tell you to skip the factory cooler altogether and just use the auxiliary.
