I am putting my engine back together this week and still have some unresolved problems with my 700R4. First some history. I had a local shop build the trans and he said he knew how to do it. I got it back and it slammed 2nd gear all the time, HARD. After looking at the valve body I realized the guy didn't put the transgo kit in it like he said. I got a transgo kit and installed it my self with help from dana @ probuilt.
This is the problem. taking off from a stop light, by the time you get through the intersection the car has shifted into 3rd gear. if you nail the gas, it will go to 3000RPM and shift, then do the same thing for the next gear. If I manually shift, it works fine and I can hold each gear as long as I want, and thats what I did last time I had the trans in a running car.
Keep in mind that the tranny has sit in my garage going on two years now.
I had talked to transgo and did the pressure tests and the numbers were fine, I still have them if anyone wants them.
They told my to pull the TV cable tight, clamp it with vis grips, and go drive it to see if it made any difference. It didn't. Even with the TV cable maxed, it still shiffted at 3k.
I checked the govenor and it seemed to be working properly.
What else can cause this problem? I will take the whole valvebody back apart if needed, I just need a place to start. Like I said earlier, it's been a while since the trans was in operation, but it sits now as it did a year or so ago.
I don't know if I have done something wrong, or the local shop did something to it to make it like this.
Thanks.
Jason

Either A you have a bad governor (it's under a round cover right in front of the tail shaft) or B your trans go shift kit made the trans flip out. I'm assuming you've adjusted the TV cable and don't have any type of TB spacer or anything that would change the cables geometry?
