87 700r4 Rebuild kit Q's
Hello everyone this is my first post, just picked up a 1987 L98 IROC, the trans unfortunatly needs a rebuild but for what I paid for the car I can't complain. My friend is a Gm tech, him an I will be doing the rebuild. My question is what rebuild kit is the best for street/strip duty? But also won't break the bank at the same time. My goal is to run low 12's in the car so I want somthing the will stand up and won't require another major rebuild down the line. I have seen the full B&M kit, how good is this kit? Does it handle the abuse of frequent lanuchs?
Also searching around I have come to the conclusion the an Edge Racing 9.5" converter w/ a 2800-3000 stall is best for street/strip setup, am I right to go with this converter and stall? Sorry for the long post, Thanks!

If your friend is a gm tech, I would build it the way he thinks best.
He has seen the common failures and knows how to upgrade them.

Most GM techs will not use valve body kits of any kind because of GM's way of thinking on how to fix/repair a 700R4. The valve body kit I would go with is the Trans-Go. Stay away from B&M unless you like hard part throttle shifts, and soft WOT shifts.
