t56 leaking

i got a t56 conversion from hawks about a year ago. i got my recipient car prepped for the install and hurricane katrina hit (my car was trapped beneath a 3 foot diamteter pine tree for about 2 months). i thought it was dead but after cutting the tree away there was only minor cosmetic damage. anyway, the tranny sat in my moms garage that whole time. i put it in the car a couple of days ago and noticed a puddle of tranny fluid underneath the car. it appears to be leaking where the tailshaft housing joins the rest of the trans. has anyone ever changed out that gasket, and if so how bad is it to do? any help would be appreciated.

Yes, I have done it. For other reasons besides a leak.

Didn't seem to difficult. Typical manual transmission stuff.

The gasket is the tubular type.
