Turbo 700 HELP!

Hi All, just a quick question about the Turbo 700's used on the 86 5L TPI Trans Am's.

As some will know I have just bought my first T/A and while on the Hoist we noticed that the plug that sits facing up on the LHD side of the Box was disconnected. There was another plug on the side of box, and that was all plugged in.

Apparently the box has a stall and shift kit installed, so the only thing I can think off is that maybe due to the mod's he had to leave that sensor or what ever it is off.

So I decided to plug it in and now what I have noticed is that one I reach over 68Kms and it goes in to over drive, it starts clunking back and forth until I get below 68 Kms again.

Does anyone know what this plug is and they reason why it would of been disconnected, or is this surging in the gears an unrelated issue?

Thanks heaps in advance for any help you can offer.

Francis.

sounds like the converter lockup plug and it was left unplugged b/c of a problem with the lockup clutch which is what's causing the bucking. The other plug is the speed sensor.

Thanks heaps for that. SO by leaving it unplged is that going to cause any problems? Is it normal to leave it off once mod's have been done to the Auto?

I have, and that when the clunking after 68kms started.

It feels like when you hit over drive it just clunks back and forth sort like in and out of gear feeling.

Yeah, something is wrong with the lockup. Sounds like its locking and unlocking on it's own.
