differences

Im pretty sure a reprogrammer kit is for a electronic controlled transmission that you can plug the kit in and change the shift points. A shift kit comes with bands and springs to modify the valve body to reroute the fluid to make it shift harder and give you manual control

In the TransGo world the difference between a shift kit and a reprogramming kit is such: The reprogramming kit has additions that enable 1st gear to be held to any speed. It also has the option of a full manual valve body. This is along with everything the shift kit offers.

The TransGo shift kit creates a better shift. Increased line pressure, faster shifting, and a better hold is the goal here.

Sorry to dig up an old post...but to anyone here.. is this saying that the transgo shift reprogrammer is the exact same as transgo shift kit but with extra features? Or is this saying that they do similar, but different things but the transgo shift kit creates a BETTER shift (than the reprogrammer)?

Re: shift kit or reprogrammer kit

The reprogramming kit from TransGo is the same as the Performance Shift kit. The difference is the video is offered with the Performance Shift kit. The regular Shift kit is totally different, and is offered in two versions. I have another version, the reprogramming kit from TransGo, combined with the TransGo Junior Shift kit. This setup offers smooth part throttle shifts with the shifts getting firmer with more throttle.
