Hi, i have a 305 tpi and it will not shift when i put it in drive or overdrive. once i put it in one of them, it will rev up for awhile, past 5k, but will not shift. my dad said it might be going straight to second gear when i first start it, and then being stuck in second, but im not sure. any ideas on what could be wrong? thanks

 

It sounds like a slipping 3-4 clutch pack. That is the way a 700r4/4l60/4l60e will die. If so, a rebuild is in order.
