Car: 1990 Camaro RS
Engine: 355
Transmission: 700-R4
Axle/Gears: stock peg leg
92 Z-28

I am about to buy a rearend out of a 92-z28...the guy says its posi but i was wondering what the gears are and if it really is posi

you would have to check the RPO code to see what ratio it is...sometimes they stamp it on the rearend or the gears itself...

you can do the posi trick, and rotate one tire forward and make sure the other one rotates forward with it...

Axle/Gears: 12-Bolt 3.73
Yes, all 92 Z28's came with posi, but whether it still works or not is another issue. The ratio will be either 2.73 with a 305 automatic, 3.08 with a 5-speed and single cat, 3.23 with a 350 and automatic, or 3.42 with a 5-speed and dual cats.
