v6 trans onto v8..what clutch?
i know there has been posts on this but i cant search because it doesnt work just yet. im putting a v6 t5 into my camaro. it has 14 splines. i need a 10.5" 14 spline friction disc or whole clutch set. anyone know where to get this? even a napa set would be fine for now. also, is there a way to test a pressure plate to see if it is still in good condition? has very low miles on it.

Best option is to call around to get a custom 14 spline 10.4in one made
The other option is to use a 9 11/16ths 14 spline disk from an 83 2.8L S10 with a v8 10.4 pressure plate.
You will also need to cut down that input shaft. Click the link in my sig for more info.

is it possible that the input for the v6 and the input on my old v8 trany are the same length. i measured them from tip to the edge of the input retainer and the are the same. what do you make of this?

Could be. Is it a World Class tranny and what year? Mine was a WC pulled from a 92 camaro and it was 1/2 inch longer. I measured from the beginning of the input bearing retainer ( where it bolts to the main case) to the end of the shaft. If I remember correctly it was just at 6 inches.
that t-5 will work, its just not very strong. mine has lasted for a good long time though just driving on the street. you need a v8 t-5 bellhousing a v8 pressure plate and the clutch disc from mcleod or advance adapters. Summit sells it as a s10 v8 swap clutch its around 150 bucks but it sure does work. its a 10.5 14spline. i had the same problem you did. make sure u use a metal throwout bearing too like from centerforce because the plastic ones will break and ruin your day.
