tranny filters
I've seen remote trans filters that use an automotive oil filter so that you can filter the trans better than the stock screen. Do these affect the performance of the trans at all (lower pressures, etc)? Are they a good idea?

they are a good addition, wouldn't say its that necessary though as long as you have recently changed the filter.
doesn't hurt either, and adds cooling too.
just fill the filter with oil when you set it up
and use good hoses and clamps

I run my line though the factory radiator cooler, then through a B&M super cooler then through a permacool remote filter with a Motorcraft FL1A filter, and then back. 20K on this setup and the 89K tranny is running cool and working great behind the 383.

Great!
Thats what I wanted to do too. Seems like everytime I drop the pan it is full of silvery/gray goo and I'd like to reduce that.
Thanks
