Installing Transmission Problems
Well ive been trying to install my stock transmission onto a 89 350 tbi engine i bought for my 92 camaro rs. And the problem I am having is that it wont go together as easy as the stock to the stock motor did. Also when i do get it lined up i have to use a couple of bolts to pull it together and then the torque conv. wont spin freely like the stock one. And yes the torque conv. is in all the way. Im not sure but every mechinic I talk to says that it should bolt up with no problem but in this case its not. If anyone has any idea they would be appreciated.

something has got to be wrong because the tranny cases are the same. double check the torque convertor anyway. it should set almost an inch inside the bell housing if not more. if you can get fingers between the tc and the pump, the tc probably isn't in all the way.

Sounds like the TC isn't installed correctly to me too. Drawing them together like that is a popular way to damage the pump.
