4th gen steel better than 3rd gen?

I was wondering if the 4th gen steel driveshaft is a better peice than our thirdgens steel driveshaft. Would it be worth putting one in if I get it for free?

Thanks,
Conrad

Esentially they are the same piece. The 4th gen is just obviously newer. If its for free it might be nice to just have a more updated piece. The 4th gen aluminum 1LE driveshafts are really nice to upgrade to.
