engine and tranny removal "for dummies"
ok, i have never pulled a tranny(700r4) from a third so don't laugh!
ok i'm pulling the motr and tranny out of my 91rs to transplant a v8 from another 91rs. i have the motor ready i just need to know what i will nee to remove(bolts, wires , sensor plugs....) to pull both the engine and tranny!! oh! its a 91rs with a 3.1l with a 700 getting a 305tbi with another 700. any help that you can give will be great! yes i have searched and didn't come up with what i need.

Transmission: all OD
Axle/Gears: Always the good ones
Easy.
Disconnect battery
Drain all the fluids first.
Disconnect all wiring.
Disconnect shift linkage and drive shaft.
I usually pull the A/c and power sterring off and hang them to the sides of the engine out of the way.
Remove engine mount bolts.
Remove trans crossmember and support with jack and a board.
Pull it out
later

Transmission: TH400 with brake, 8" PTC converter
Axle/Gears: moser 9" 4.11
don't forget swapping from v6 to v8 involves moving the motor mounts on the kmember as well. while you're there swap to poly motor mounts since they'll be out anyways. most of all good luck on your project. if you have questions we'll be more than happy to help you along the way.
