t-56 help please!!!

t-56 help please!!!

I am having trouble getting the clutch fork onto the throw out bearing. Am I just and idiot or is there a trick. I installed my motor and trans together on the floor and the installed them together. any help would be greatly appreciated...

the fork won't go on the throw out after trans install. - You put the fork in, put the throw out on, then slide the trans in place.

But the throw out beaing is made on the pressure plate right? how would I install it before sliding in the trans??

...no, the throw out is a seperate bearing. They're not part of the pressure plate. You put the clutch in, put the bell on(with the fork on the pivot), set the throw out bearing on the fork and slide the trans inplace.

The throw out rides on the retainer plate surrounding the trans input shaft. It only touches the pressure plate when you step on the clutch pedal. - Thus the reason riding/leaving your foot on the clutch pedal burns the t bearing up.

I feel like an idoit. Ive done tons of clutch jobs, but never a pull type like this. so I need to remove it from the pressure plate? Mine is attached. Guess Im gonna have to remove it?

Anyone else have any ideas?? I know a ton of theses swaps have been done...its been a piece of cake up until this. How did you guys install you fork? do I have the wrong clutch...I bought all of the stuff second hand. I really dont want to pull the trans again if at all possible
