first you need to know what series you need if you will be using your old gears over again. Then you can go from there im guessing you have a 7.5 10 bolt but you will need to be sure. could be 9 bolt. I would look for a posi out of a 93-02 camaro they fit in our rears, auburn made most of the posis for the fourth gens. There is also zexel torsen posi's harder to find now though, check out ebay for 7.5 posi, just be sure you know what your getting
the gov-loc is a posi unit for the gm 7.5 ten bolt. you can get a posi carrier from any gm rear wheel drive. you'd want one to match your rear, 7.5/7.62 ten bolt and 26 spline. make sure the carrier series matches.
The gov-lock uses a little ratchet tab to lock the axle. The little tab is held on via a small bolt(like 3/16's). If it catches slightly wrong, one time, the little bolt gives and the ratchet goes flying through your diff cover...
- Search e-bay, junk yards, etc. I'd look for the torsional unit, but your car may be 26 spline axles which means you'd also need to upgrade axles(cheap investment if the car has any future hp expectations).
