I got a stock tranny in my 89 iroc that doesnt wanna shift into passing gear. Well it will but you have to mash the pedal to the floor; Then it will downshift, for maybe a second or two, and shift back up. Really makes the car feel weak. Anybody else had this problem and have a solution?

 

Could be the Throttle valve cable (TV cable) needs adjusting or (like in my case) needs to be replaced because it has strectched so much it cannot be adjusted.
